TENNIS: SPARTAN FUTURE STARS Join Steward’s tennis coach for this great sport. This camp is for players who are experienced and have the desire to start playing in tournaments. Campers should already have a strong understanding of strokes and be looking to compete. These players will have the opportunity to participate in an upcoming summer tournament. Please bring a healthy snack and water bottle each day. Coach: Kurt Hammerschmidt Grades: 4 – 12 ONE-WEEK TENNIS CAMP: SPARTAN FUTURE STARS Date/Time: June 24 – 28; 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Cost: $240 MINI CAMP (THREE DAY CAMP) SPARTAN FUTURE STARS Date/Time: June 10 – 12, July 8 – 10, July 22 – 24; 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Cost: $150 VIRGINIA FISHING ADVENTURES FOR OLDER CAMPERS This camp with Virginia Fishing Adventures offers campers the opportunity to learn the basics of freshwater fishing. Virginia Fishing Adventures staff will drive campers to private freshwater ponds and nearby rivers where campers will fish for bass, bluegill, crappie, and catfish from jon boats and rafts. All campers will wear lifejackets when in the water or on a boat, and the staff maintains a 1:5 counselor-to-camper ratio. Virginia Fishing Adventures provides all bait and 34 | GRADES 6-8 tackle, rods and reels, and lifejackets. Campers should wear shoes and clothes that they don’t mind getting wet and dirty. Join our staff of experienced riders for a week on the trails this summer. Campers will develop beginner and intermediate mountain biking skills including: steering, shifting, hill climbing and descending, log hopping, dodging obstacles, etiquette, maintenance, safety, and more. Campers ride in the morning, have a midday activity like tubing or snorkeling on the James River, then get back on the bikes in the afternoon. Campers are placed in groups from beginner to advanced intermediate, so they are riding with campers of the same ability.
