Dear Camp J Families ,
Lights , Camera , Camp J is where the “ Action ” is this summer at the Tucson J Summer Camp 2017 . Each camp week celebrates the different genres of cinematic history with a theme that will connect campers to the life , energy and the world of cinema . From the silent film era to outer space and Sci-Fi , and everything in-between , campers will be embraced with the enjoyment of programming geared towards time-periods and cultures from around the world .
Sports Campers will learn and improve on their skills , teamwork , and good sportsmanship as they enjoy healthy competitions . Campers in middle school will enjoy travel camps where they will get a chance to venture out to new and fun destinations , spending quality time with their new and old friends .
Camp J is well known for the highest quality of programs and activities for campers of all ages and interests . All Camp J staff members are educated and / or have experience in child development related fields and most have camping backgrounds . Many campers return year after year , and even eventually become counselors themselves . We are also the only day camp in Tucson accredited by the prestigious ACA ( American Camping Association ), which ensures delivery of the highest standards in the industry .
Our goal is to have the safest and most stimulating camp experience for every camper . Day Camp is meaningful to your child ’ s development . It is where people build values related to taking good care of themselves and others , and creates an environment where you feel connected with a sense of belonging . Caring , respect and cooperation , problem solving and learning takes place daily . Campers work together as a team , make new friends easily and learn from each other as they enjoy daily activities and adventures . This year we have added Chugim ( choices ) for our traditional day campers . During Chugim time , campers and their parents can review afternoon choice time options and pick their favorites . These include time with a variety of specialists .
At Summer Camp J , your campers will enjoy the use of the Tucson J ’ s beautiful state-of-the-art 110,000 -square-foot facility , including the Indoor PlaySpace , kosher demonstration kitchen , the youth gym , mind body studio and youth only locker rooms , as well as the full-size gym , pool , Splash Park , outdoor fields , tennis courts , playgrounds , computer lab , art studio , dance room , music room , youth lounge and more .
This summer we will be offering transportation to The J from morning camp sites in Tucson , as well as easy low-cost Northwest Tucson morning pick-up and afternoon drop-off service from the Foothills Mall ( in front of Barnes & Noble ).
Whether you choose to join us for one week , a few weeks , or all of camp we are always very happy to see you as we all grow together and build great memories .
