» 1991 The Hall of Fame was established to recognize coaching excellence and contributions to the Association.
» June 1992 Jim Sheldon named First Executive Director and established offices in Kansas City, Missouri. Uner his his leadership, membership grew from roughly 8,000 to over 29,000 coaches.
» 1995 NSCAA became the primary source for college rankings and awards after absorbing the Intercollegiate Soccer Association of America( ISAA).
» 1995 | Foundation The Foundation Standing Committee was formally established to manage scholarships and grants.
» 1996 NSCAA began recognizing an outstanding collegiate Player of the Year.
» 1999 The Player of the Year program was coordinated with the Missouri Athletic Club to create the joint MAC Hermann Trophy. Laurie Whitsel served as the first female president of the Association. To date there have been 10 women who have served in this role.

» 2003 The Foundation Committee was reactivated to expand the Association’ s philanthropic reach.
» 2007 Named endowment funds from the Foundation Committee were established and have grown to 33 established funds by 2024.
» 2009 Joe Cummings was named the Association’ s first Chief Executive Officer, elevating the leadership role from Executive Director. He served as CEO until 2015, marking a key milestone in the Association’ s growth and professional evolution.
» 2013 NSCAA and Ohio University launched the only soccer-specific master’ s degree in the United States.
» 2015 The Advocacy Council was created to improve governance and give diverse groups a unified voice. This effort allowed for the Coaches Communities to expand and represent the diverse groups across the game.
» August 2, 2017 Under the leadership of Lynn Berling-Manuel, the decision to rebrand from National Soccer Coaches Association of America( NSCAA) to United Soccer Coaches was made to globalize the reputation of the association. This change also reflects our role in uniting coaching across all levels of the game.
» 2021 | Annual Convention Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Geoff VanDeusen successfully led the Association to host a fully digital convention, for the first time in its history.
» 2024 Allison Pronske named Managing Director leading the National Office Staff into a reimagined Association which continues to educate, inspire and adapt to the needs of coaches today. n
