Award winning wood artist , Richard Webster ’ s love of wood came about from repairing and maintaining his 200-yearold Italian Bass as a professional musician with the National Symphony . He selects the wood for each piece from an inventory of wood collected from around the world . Exotic woods are used as accents , providing a beautiful palette of color and texture . Webster ’ s creative approach is influenced by the rhythms of music , particularly jazz , allowing the wood to suggest the design . The Japanese principle of Wabi Sabi , which sees beauty in the natural form and imperfections of the wood and Shaker design , as well as patterns of quilting and marquetry provide much inspiration . www . websterwoodworks . com
Linda Phillips is a potter and a farmer in the Ag Reserve who clearly loves to have her hands in the dirt ! She grows a variety of berries on her farm at Something Earthy Pottery Studio , which are transformed into other fruits of her labor — delicious vinegars and jams . Using imported Modena balsamic vinegar as a base , she reduces it with fresh fruit and organic sugar to create blackberry , raspberry , blueberry and peach finishing vinegars to top salads , cheeses and more . Her 20 varieties of natural jams are from fruits she grows or sourced from other local farmers in the Reserve .
