Saturday , May 28 9 a . m . - Heartland Regional Junior Show Coffee , juices and donuts will be provided
* Snacks , popcorn & beverages will be served throughout the two days

Limi-Boosters Future Professionals Contest

The objective of the contest is for NALJA members to create a resume and cover letter based on factual work , experiences , education , etc ., of the junior that can be used for future career and educational purposes and for the NALJA member to experience a professional interview .
A ) Time : Wednesday , June 29 at 2:00 pm B ) Divisions : This contest is only for Intermediate and Senior participants C ) Rules : 1 . General contest rules pertaining to all age divisions are as follows : a ) Contest is only open to members 15 years of age and older , as of May 20 , 2022 . b ) Contestant will be scored separately on each of the following : cover letter , resumé , personal interview and thank you note . A combined score from these four areas will determine the contestant ’ s overall score . 2 . Each contestant will be interviewed for no more than ten ( 10 ) minutes . 3 . Each individual will be evaluated on the following in the interview portion of this contest : a ) Education - Does applicant have the educational background needed for a position with the organization ? b ) Leadership Potential - Does applicant appear to have the ability and motivation to advance in the organization ? c ) Extracurricular Activities - Does the potential interviewer have sufficient experience in outside activities ? d ) Work Experience - Does the applicant have sufficient job accomplishments , skills and experiences to relate to the position . e ) Communication Skills - How well was the candidate able to express his / her thoughts ? Consider factors such as vocabulary , grammar , style of delivery , etc . f ) Career Planning - Did the candidate show evidence of career planning ? ( Example : setting goals for the future , alternative career paths , long-range plans for future self-development ) g ) Motivation / Initiative - To what extent does the applicant show enthusiasm for the position being interviewed for ? h ) Appearance / Personality - What kind of general impression does the applicant make ? Consider dress , grooming , posture and presence . D ) Process : 1 . A panel of qualified judges will critique the entries 2 . Resumes will be critiqued on the following : organization , content , grammar , categories used , relevance , layout and format 3 . There will different topics for intermediate and senior divisions standard cattle equipment occupying stall or aisle space will be disqualified . 4 . Contestants are encouraged to wear business professional clothing . Contestants will be judged on personal appearance 5 . Points will go to each division winner and will count toward the final point total for the state sweepstakes award .
Novice and juniors will not compete in the contest but complete a hands-on workshop focused in professionalism .

Heartland Regional Limousin Show

Afton , Iowa - May 27-28 , 2022 RULES
The Heartland Regional Junior Limousin Show will follow all the rules of the 2022 National Junior Limousin Show and Congress ( NJLSC ). Showmanship age breaks are novice 5-9 years of age , junior : 10-13 years of age , intermediate : 14-16 years of age and seniors 17-21 years of age . Steer classes will be divided by weight . Female and bull classes will be divided by age . Exhibitors must be members of the North American Limousin Junior Association ( NALJA ), own their cattle and have the cattle in their names by May 15 .
Exhibitors must be paid members of the Heartland Limousin Association .
ENTRY INFORMATION
Entry fees for the junior show are $ 25 per head , payable to the North American Limousin Foundation ( NALF ).
All entries must be postmarked by May 15 . Late entries will ONLY BE ACCEPTED
ONLINE at $ 50 per head . Late entry at check-in using paper forms will be allowed . There will be a $ 15 per head bedding fee . No refunds .
