a full-time position . One of Jorge ’ s proudest accomplishments was leading the boys to six Red Baseball titles . When asked how the Saint David ’ s experience differs from that of other private independent schools , he pointed to the continuity of faculty and staff as a reassuring constant for the community . “ While there may be change all around us , Saint David ’ s boys often find that their favorite teachers and administrators remain at Saint David ’ s long after they graduate . When you return to campus , you can feel the continuity and legacy : Alums return years or even decades later and they identify with that connection . After all of that time , it ’ s still their school — and always will be .” On a personal note , Jorge reflected , “ Saint David ’ s has given me a place to develop spiritually , emotionally , and professionally . I am a better person because of my experience here .”
MIRIAM O ’ REGAN ROMÁN
Miriam O ’ Regan Román has served the school with distinction while efficiently and effectively managing many administrative functions as Assistant to the Head of Upper School . Like Gisèle , Miriam began her tenure at Saint David ’ s in August 1998 . Impressed immediately by the “ warm welcome ” she received from then-receptionist Judy Kramer and Co-Director of Admissions Julie Sykes , she readily accepted the offer to join the school as Admissions Assistant to Julie and her fellow Co-Director of Admissions , Janet Sughrue ( R . I . P .). In that capacity , Miriam met and welcomed new families and “ enjoyed watching Saint David ’ s boys evolve from the four-year-olds I first encountered to fine young men ” come graduation . When the position of Assistant to the Head of Upper School opened in 2015 , Miriam took advantage of the opportunity to embrace something new at the school . Working closely with the faculty and getting to know them better has been a source of great satisfaction for her these past seven years . Citing the life-long friendships she ’ s made at Saint David ’ s , Miriam said she will miss “ this home away from home ,” but is eager to begin the next chapter of her life in Valencia , Spain , with husband Jorge .
Kim , Paul , Gisèle , Jorge , and Miriam will be missed by their colleagues , friends , families , and the boys of Saint David ’ s . Each has contributed their own unique fabric to the tapestry of this special school . We wish them all well on their future endeavors and look forward to celebrating their service at the Spring Gathering in June .
Kim Davidson

Choose a job you love , and you will never have to work a day in your life . – Confucius
Schools are remarkable places ! Each day brings new issues , events , decisions , and excitement . For 15 years , I had the pleasure of assisting Kim Davidson as she led the Lower School . The joy , dedication , and compassion she brought to the job clearly came from her delight in all things related to teaching . The most inspirational teacher I have ever encountered , Kim Davidson truly took Confucius ’ advice to heart ! She is a devoted educator and a kind , thoughtful , caring individual . I am sure if you asked her she would tell you that truly , she has never really WORKED a day during her 38 years at Saint David ’ s . To her , it was all done out of love . Innovative teacher , compassionate advocate , inspiring mentor , thoughtful leader ; Kim happily worked / loved through whatever came her way .
Creative and imaginative , it was clear that teaching was her passion . Though tasked with the administration of the Lower School , I always knew her favorite times were when she was actually teaching in the classroom and dreaming up exciting new curriculum for the boys . Getting to know the students as individuals and actively participating in their education is a hallmark of a Saint David ’ s administrator . During our time together , in addition to being Lower School Head , she taught many subjects . She would pitch in at a moment ’ s notice to help if a teacher was out and always had a trick up her sleeve to help a boy understand a concept or find meaning in a lesson . She loved spending time with the boys and never missed an opportunity to read to them or work on a special project . It
