During the start of COVID , I was a team lead in the direct lending services team . This team was required to work in-office through COVID due to processing lien placement on vehicle titles for our lenders , which is something that we are not able to do from home .
Overcoming challenges : The biggest challenge that I had as a team lead was keeping team morale up while we faced the decrease in the amount of work we were receiving , and encouraging the team to build their knowledge in this company and learn other departments and processes .
Staying the course : If you have a great community of team members , peers and leadership , you can push through and triumph over anything that is thrown in your path .

I manage the physical upkeep of the building . Though we officially transitioned to working remotely , the buildings never closed . Security was always operational , mail was still distributed , and some employees needed access to their workspaces . Because people were onsite , the building had to be maintained .
Serving with pride : I looked to those around me for inspiration ... those who endured the fast-changing conditions and new health and safety regulations as well as new facility maintenance and cleaning protocols . It can be difficult to maintain a level of positivity during challenging times , and it was fulfilling to see how we came together and kept things running smoothly .
What I learned : We can never become complacent because we don ’ t know what is on the horizon . When change is challenging , we can learn and grow from it , not only individually but also as a community .

I help facilitate Cox ’ s response to the public utility 811 system , which by law requires requests to be completed within a two-day time frame . This is a critical system for preventing damages to infrastructure and is managed by all utilities 24 / 7 , 365 .
Overcoming challenges : Implementing the use of PPE [ personal protective equipment ] in the beginning stages of the pandemic , when less information about the virus was available , proved to be a bit stressful . Guidance from Cox was critical , and I felt very informed and supported in the days where it felt like everything we were all doing to protect ourselves and others was just a shot in the dark .
Proudest moment : I am proud that Cox as a whole pulled together and met the challenge and demand to support the infrastructure of the country in a way that had never been tested before . When everyone had to stay home and depend on our services in more critical ways than ever , it seemed everyone stepped up and did more from a sense of duty and pride .
