Wieden+Kennedy is a great example of how private sector companies can do good by doing good work.

Foundation

In 1982, Dan Wieden and David Kennedy started Wieden+Kennedy, a full-service independent advertising agency with a single client: Nike. Today, it's the largest independent advertising network in the world and Nike is one of the most influential brands of all time. While its headquarters remain in Portland, Oregon, where the company got its start, W+K now supports over 1,400 employees and services brand partners across the globe with offices in New York, London, Amsterdam, Shanghai, Tokyo,

Deli, and São Paulo.

Renowned for its

fearless and bold

advertising, this video

founders and keys to

success:

Culture + Impact

W+K believes brands do the best advertising when it doesn’t feel like advertising at all. The fiercely independent shop has the ability to cut through the noise with work that impacts culture, connects with consumers in meaningful ways, and, when appropriate, leads with a purpose in a world that is increasingly demanding it. They are on a mission to build a world bigger than ads, using the work to say something, one conversation, idea, and ad at a time.

Clients

W+K has a track record of helping new brands figure out who they are, legendary brands re-discover their truth and tired brands get their swagger back. They’ve partnered with venture capitalists to launch companies and start-ups to introduce products.

They are grounded in creative and media working together—believing how and where a brand shows up, especially across today's infinite channels, can turbo charge the creative potency of an idea and how it spreads through culture.

The global network partners with some of the world’s most recognized brands, including (but

not limited to) Anheuser-Busch InBev, The Coca-Cola Company, Delta Air Lines, Formula 1,

Ford, Kentucky Fried Chicken, McDonald's, Nike, Procter & Gamble, Samsung and Visa.

The Work

The following showcase of Wieden+Kennedy’s creative output from across the globe demonstrates our earlier contention that private companies can do good by doing good work that makes a difference in the world.
