On Friday March 21st, the National Opera House staged a truly unique and memorable concert featuring almost 400 talented students from 12 post-primary/second-level schools of Waterford and Wexford Education and Training Board (WWETB).

Since last September, students and their teachers have been collaborating to produce a concert that showcases musical talent spanning all genres. Although the date of the show had to be moved due to the snow, students and teachers regrouped and worked hard to provide a night of top quality entertainment to a packed National Opera House. The audience were treated to a stunning vocal performance from a choir of over 300 students, a cross-college orchestra, a large traditional music band, soloists, singer-songwriters, ensemble performances featuring hits from famous musicals, vocal quartets and much more.

Eilis Leddy, Director of Schools for WWETB and co-producer of the show said, “we were beyond proud to have had over 400 students representing our schools. They were fantastic ambassadors for WWETB. We have been inundated with messages of congratulations after the show. They worked so hard and it showed on the right. They looked very much at home on the world-renowned stage of the National Opera House"!

The feeling in the auditorium and backstage is hard to put into words. We felt part of a team, part of a community and I think the audience could sense how much it meant to everyone. Students had supported each other every step of the way" Sinead added, "our Music teachers worked tirelessly on the ground in their schools for months to make this the best show possible. They showed such vision and dedication"
