We’ll be painting, printmaking, sculpting, and crafting the ocean and its creatures while we learn about native Hawaiian culture and life on the islands. Following a structured curriculum, campers learn how skateboard creation involves mathematics, science, language skills, design, and engineering. This is all wrapped up into an immersive creative arts experience that meets S.T.E.A.M standards. Each day is filled with games, quizzes, and educational fun while students create and build their very own unique skateboard that goes home with them at the end of the camp. On Friday, the last day of camp, students will get on-site skateboard lessons and have a chance to ride the board they created. NEW! NEW! We’re going to spend a week creating all kinds of different creatures. We’ll look at famous artists and their artistic creatures, such as Franz Marc and his Blue Horse, or Henri Rousseau and his Lions and Tigers. Campers will create their own version of these works of art as well as many other fun projects using drawing, painting, printmaking, and sculpture.
