Origami Crane
The students of VTOS Bunclody, whose nationalities include, Irish, Polish, Latvian and Lithuanian decided on a theme of respecting different cultural identities. The students made 1000 origami cranes in order to make a wish.
The installation comprises of 1000 cranes, handmade by students and staff as part of a project for QQI modules, ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages), Teamworking and Understanding Interculturalism.
An ancient Japanese legend promises that anyone who folds a thousand origami cranes will be granted a wish by the Gods. Their wish would be for all of us to embrace multiculturalism.
