Participation by teachers from all our Schools and Youthreach Centres in the teaching and learning project ‘Magenta Principles’ facilitate by author of the book Mike Hughes which examines the engagement, depth and challenge in the classroom.

Participation by two of our schools Selskar College and Bunclody Vocational College in the pilot Wexford Restorative Practice project.

Professional Communities of Learning/Subject Networks commenced with Music Teachers and will expand in the next school year to the other subject areas.

Leading a proposal for a Music Education Partnership (Music Generation) with Wexford County Council, Waterford City and County Council and many interests in music education across both counties.

Launch of the Wexford Local Economic and Community Plan in Coláiste Abbáin, Adamstown emphasising the value and priority of education in the economic development of Wexford and the important role that WWETB can play in the development of that plan.

Commencement of membership for WWETB on the Waterford Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) and the implementation role in the Waterford Local Economic and Community Plan.

Leading the co-ordination of all the main Waterford agencies in Further Education and Training with WWETB. A similar event for Wexford is planned for shortly.

Great success by our students across a range of academic, sporting and cultural areas. Some notable successes include winners in the Michael Sweetman Education Trust by students from Kennedy College New Ross and Tramore Youthreach and the sole Irish representative at the 100th anniversary of the battle of the Somme by students and staff of St. Paul’s Community College Waterford.

Development of the innovative Pearson Vue Test Centre in Waterford training which allows access to hundreds of students for on-line examinations, etc.

Very innovative proposal document prepared by our Further Education and Training Team for SOLAS in relation to courses to be commenced and facilities to be developed during 2017.

Very positive feedback in the vast majority of cases from Department of Education inspections in our schools giving excellent validation of the work of students, staff and school management and advice as to how to further improve our teaching and learning.
