RESTORATIVE PRACTICE

On March 23rd, Selskar College held a day of whole staff Continuous Professional Development on Restorative Practice, presented by Michelle Stowe on behalf of Tallaght CDI.

Teachers explored how to develop restorative skills and how to cultivate a restorative mindset using restorative values, intentions and language. An overview was given of RP, exploring how it consciously builds relationships. Teachers learned about the transformative potential of restorative language and how it brings us from shame and disconnection, to empathy and connection. The day went very well and feedback was hugely positive.

To date, another four of our colleges have expressed an interest in learning more about RP and how committing to the use of RP could benefit students and staff.

WWETB is also represented on the Wexford Restorative Practice Partnership.

Some very exciting and innovative ideas were proposed to showcase the talent in our colleges and further grow the numbers of students studying Music.
