committee’s 2014 annual report, research
showed that while attorneys thought that
limited scope representation was a good
idea, they were uneasy about offering
limited scope services themselves. This
prompted the committee to research
approaches used in other states to make
it easier for attorneys to provide limited
scope representation. The current rule
amendments are based on the committee’s
research.
The amended versions of Rule 1.2,
Rule 11, and Rule 11.2, as well as the
MJIC’s minutes and annual reports, are
available on the North Dakota Supreme
Court website.
