“I bake for two reasons. One, because I love it. I love the smells, I love the challenge, I love the taste of homemade... and I love the childhood memories it brings back. Now, however, the main reason I bake is because I have to. My son has Celiac Disease, which means he cannot have anything containing gluten. I make his bread, his cookies, brownies, cakes, pies, anything baked I make… and quite well, too, I might add!”

“Because I’m a father and my son loves homemade cookies and because that son leaves for his second tour in Iraq in less than 60 days. When he is away, I bake so I can send him and his friends morsel memories of home. I want them to always feel good inside when thinking of home, so they make sure to be as safe as possible while doing their jobs, so they will return to their loved ones--and so I can bake some more when they do.”
