Anticipatory Action promoters serve as spaces to raise awareness of the importance of acting ahead of the impact of disasters and crises, as well as the roles and expectations during the Early Action Plan activations. During 2024, certified ToTs in Argentina (Tomás Sarkis), Mexico (Sandra Estrada), Chile (Jean Paul Reinberg and Diego Araya) and Costa Rica (Luis Guzmán with the support of Gerardo Machado) facilitated replications of the course for
to strengthen staff and volunteers' readiness capacities in their National Societies. So far, around 200 people are promoting Anticipatory Action in four countries. The Argentine Red Cross has 25 new promoters; 18 from the Mexican Red Cross, 22 from the Costa Rican Red Cross and 133 from the Chilean Red Cross.
The training includes four theorical-practical modules, in which key concepts of the anticipation mechanism, components of an Early Action Plan and technical and cross-cutting elements for its activation are detailed; it finalizes with a simulation that tests the understanding of the content throughout the training.
