uring emergencies,

hygiene promotion

can accelerate the recovery of communities, helping to restore normalcy and dignity; it is an essential component of humanitarian response and anticipatory action interventions. In this regard, the WaSH Hub organized a regional course for Hygiene Promotion in August 2024. The training was held in Alajuela, Costa Rica and was attended by 24

representatives from the National Societies of the Red Cross in Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Panama, Colombia and Argentina.

The course explored methodologies and tools for hygiene promotion, as well as facilitation techniques. Strategies that can help identify the diverse community's needs and concerns were also exposed by the facilitators.

A community exercise was developed to practice the training's content. The different experiences shared by the participants enriched the course.

As WaSH specialists, we can't underestimate the significant contribution we must make as hygiene
