German Red Cross' headquarter representatives

visited initiatives in Honduras and Guatemala

he German Red Cross'

international cooperation relationship in Honduras and Guatemala

has grown over the years, from response, preparedness and Anticipatory Action initiatives. In this sense, Christian Reuter, Secretary General of the German Red Cross, and Christof Johnen, Head of International Cooperation, made a visit in April 2024, to exchange with teams of the Honduran Red Cross and the Guatemalan Red Cross about the programs and initiatives in their countries. The agenda began with a visit to the Honduran Red Cross' Humanitarian Service Point (HSP) in Danlí, El Paraíso, where the cooperation's impact in support of migrants in transit was detailed.

Afterwards, the visit continued at the WaSH Hub warehouse in Las Uvas, Tegucigalpa, followed by a community meeting to learn about the Early Warning System in Chamelecón, and its official launch with key actors. The facilities of the Center for the Attention to Returned Migrants (CAMR) in Omoa, Cortés, were also visited.

In Guatemala, the agenda continued at the El Estor Delegation, to share the progress of the integrated program's initiatives and

the Early Action Plans; followed by the WaSH Hub field school, and concluded at the headquarters of the Guatemalan Red Cross.
