THE
BACKGROUND
This was actually the second
time I have lost 100+ pounds in
my adult life.
The first time was beginning age
25 after getting out of a long
term relationship. It took me a
couple of years or so, but I went
from 245 to 155. I did a little
fitness modeling and fitness
competing but found keeping a
low weight of 145 very difficult.
Prior to that, I had been an active
child, active teen, and was a
healthy weight from my
university days through to my
early 40s, with the little blip in
my early 20s.
There were some other minor
fluctations along the way, but
usually within the healthy weight
range for my height.
Between the age of 40 (when I
got married and was at the low
end of overweight) and age 48, I
picked up a lot of extra weight.
