People always say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but so many of us miss breakfast each morning because we are running late for work or the kids are late for school or if you’re like my mom, you find a million house chores to do and think you can fit them all into the morning. By the time you spin around, you’re starving and have to find a way to survive until lunch. We have a solution. You’re going to learn how to conquer the breakfast blues and feel full all the way up to lunch! The Importance of Breakfast Prep In Advance We have all heard about meal prep. It’s easy, it’s faster and its trendy but as a chef I’ve always preferred cooking each meal right before I eat it… except breakfast. For me, breakfast has to be prepped in advance. How else can I get out of the house on time?! Prepping breakfast isn’t hard at all but we aren’t talking about your eggs and bacon, much less some ackee and saltfish. No, leave those for the weekend. We’re talking hardy whole oats, tons of fruit, nuts and protein; really filling stu� that you can make from the night before (or even weeks in advance). You might still need to do some things in the morning, but we’re talking about the minimum, like slicing fruits or reheating a stew. These tasks may be minimal but they can make or break your breakfast. Let’s be honest, overnight oats on its own isn’t exactly delicious.
