Change happened because people stepped forward, at personal risk, and pushed to make things better.” from the EDITOR TG Toby Gorman Welcome to our first annual edibles, extracts, and concentrates special issue. While it’s hard to believe it has been a year since our inaugural issue went to press, it is even harder to believe how the world has changed in the past 12 months. COVID-19, a shattered economy, and an uprising against racism, among many other issues, have all collided in a very short window of time to create a lot of uncertainty, unrest, and unraveling. If you have been thrown off your regular axis, you’re not alone. You wouldn’t be human if you weren’t. As an international publication, we are fortunate to be connected to a global community. Over the past few weeks and months, we have chatted with our writers, readers, clients, and friends from around the world and worked with them to put this issue together. The message from each corner of the world has been the same when talking about the state of the society; sadness, fear, uncertainty, anger, and disappointment are all emotions that have risen to the surface. But there has also been resilience, hope, and demand for a better way forward. A short time ago, the legalization of marijuana was a revolution in itself. People demanded it, they affected change, they stood up. And look how far this industry has come in just a few years. Change happened because people stepped forward, at personal risk, and pushed to make things better. The same is happening on many fronts right now: racism, LGBTQ, gender equality, climate change, wage-gap disparity, police brutality… the list goes on. So, keep fighting, keep making a difference, and keep your foot on the gas, because you’re making a difference. And who knows, maybe by the time the second annual edition of this issue comes out next summer, we’ll be living in a more just, kind, and better world. 12 Maximum Yield
