You have a vast knowledge of obscure films . How did this develop and where do you find these movies ? I go hunting for obscure movies all the time . There is a vast collection of films that not many people know about or care enough to go looking for . Modern streaming sites like Shudder are more dedicated to this idea and are cheap enough for my college budget to afford . I personally love finding films or art pieces that are unique in their own way . They ' re oneof-a-kind . Tell us about your experience with film making . Are you working on any current projects ? I started making my own films in high school . They weren ' t as good as I hoped , but I focused a lot on action scenes and horror elements and I still strive to use those today in my practice . I am working on writing a feature with fellow Subcutaneous contributor Budgie Bigelow at the moment and hope to start shooting in July . I am also working on an independent short horror film called " Friend " that should be released sometime at the end of the year . Do you yell at the T . V . screen / movie theater when horror movies are playing ? Absolutely . But if I am , it means it ' s not a good horror film and I ' m angrily pointing out its flaws . What are your absolute favorite top 3 horror films and why ? Horror is a subjective genre so I try to avoid picking favorites , especially since some of my favorites are movies I like because they are so dumb . I adore Pan ' s Labyrinth for its setting and its creature design . Spiral ( or Uzumaki ) is a particular favorite of mine since I ' m a fan of the original source material . Repo ! tic . Breathing Room ( 2008 ) is stupid fun . YellowBrickRoad is another one I recommend to watch . Do you have any advice for the novice film reviewer ? Watch as many movies as you can . Read books about filmmaking . The more you know , the more you can accurately gain an educated opinion about the film you are reviewing . What scares you the most ? Dolls and dinosaur rides .
