6-Speed Manual Transmission
With its short throw, smooth and direct action, and leather-
wrapped shift knob, shifting the 6-speed manual transmission
lets you savour every sweep of the glowing red tachometer
needle. And the 6-speed manual transmission equipped
with the Driver Controlled Centre Differential (DCCD) in
the WRX STI features close-ratio gearing, ratcheting up its
performance potential even further.

Sport Lineartronic™ Transmission
The efficiency-enhancing Sport Lineartronic™ Transmission
keeps the engine in the perfect rev range to minimize fuel
consumption. Paddle shifters provide a manual mode with
6 steps when SI-DRIVE is placed in Intelligent or Sport Mode,
and 8 when you put it in Sport Sharp. It’s also paired with
Variable Torque Distribution (VTD) AWD, which distributes
the engine’s torque to all four wheels while focusing on the
rear wheels for a sporty feel.
