From the moment you first fire one up, both the WRX and
WRX STI all but beg you to let them loose on whatever
curvy stretch of asphalt you can find. The rigid, strong
chassis gives you the kind of controllability you need to
get the most of every bit of ferocious grip coming from the
exceptionally balanced Symmetrical AWD drivetrain.
The suspension makes it all possible, with stiff anti-roll bars,
performance-tuned shock dampening and spring-rates,
and available 18" aluminum-alloy wheels with inverted
front struts. It’s an enviable suspension set-up—4-wheel
independent suspension with aluminum front lower control
arms, and double wishbone rear suspension. Altogether,
this results in minimal body roll, which translates to more
confidence, better control, and increased grip under hard
cornering. The WRX STI also features the Multi-mode Driver
Controlled Centre Differential (DCCD), which allows you to
tailor the torque split between the front and rear wheels.
