Only forward facing child restraint systems( including booster seats) can be installed on this seat and should only be installed when it is unavoidable. When you install a forward facing child restraint system to the front passenger’ s seat, perform the following procedure.

Seat position: Rearmost as possible Seatback: Upright
1. Adjust the front passenger’ s seat as illustrated.
2. Install the child restraint system to the front passenger’ s seat. Refer to“ Installing a forward facing child restraint system” FP61.

3. Place and secure the child in the child restraint system.
4. Check that the front passenger’ s frontal airbag ON / OFF indicator light status meets the requirements of your child restraint system.

When front passenger’ s frontal airbag OFF indicator light is illuminated: Only forward facing child restraint systems can be installed on the front passenger’ s seat.
When front passenger’ s frontal airbag ON indicator light is illuminated: Child restraint systems cannot be installed

on the front passenger’ s seat. Install the child restraint system on the rear seats. For more details, refer to“ SUBARU Advanced Frontal Airbag System, SRS Side Airbag and SRS Curtain Airbag” FP81.
5. Check that the child restraint system does not contact the head restraint. If the child restraint system does make contact with the head restraint, raise the head restraint to the extended position. If the child restraint system still makes contact, remove the head restraint. For details, refer to“ Head Restraint Adjustment” FP36.

CAUTION
. When you install a child restraint system, follow the manufacturer’ s instructions supplied with it. After installing the child restraint system, check to ensure that it is held securely in position. If it is not held tight and secure, the danger of your child suffering personal injury in the event of an accident may be increased.
