Engineered to watch your back.

Always looking for ways to help make the Outback even safer, we have now added the available Reverse Automatic Braking system. 2 It can detect objects directly behind your vehicle when backing up at a low speed and can help bring the Outback to a stop should an object be detected. The Subaru Rear / Side Vehicle Detection( SRVD) system featuring Rear Cross-Traffic Alert is there to warn you of traffic approaching from the side when you’ re backing up. There’ s also Blind-Spot Detection with Lane Change Assist 3 to help warn you when it senses a vehicle in your blind spot and the standard Rearview Camera, giving you better vision when backing up.

Braking System
The standard 4-wheel disc brakes and Anti-lock Braking System( ABS) supply a strong, reassuring brake feel. To ensure maximum braking during an emergency, the Outback features both Brake Assist and Brake Override. There’ s also the Hill-Holder feature, which helps prevent rollback.
Vehicle Dynamics Control with Active Torque Vectoring
Standard Vehicle Dynamics Control( VDC) senses if the vehicle is following the driver’ s intended course and can help ensure it does. Active Torque Vectoring was added to make your Outback even more responsive and better at taking on corners.
Visibility
The Outback features thin A-pillars, which increase visibility. It also features front quarter windows with door-mounted side mirrors to reduce the front blind spot for increased forward visibility.
