Prepared to avoid.
At Subaru, we believe the best accident is the one that never happens. That’s why we’ve equipped the all-new Outback with
active safety features like the new Rear Cross-Traffic Alert to help warn you of traffic approaching from the side when you’re
backing up and new Blind-Spot Detection with Lane Change Assist to help warn you when it senses a vehicle in your blind spot
or a vehicle approaching at a high speed in a neighbouring lane. We’ve also added an improved Rear-Vision Camera for better
vision when backing up, standard on every trim.
Braking system
The standard 4-wheel disc brakes and Anti-lock
Braking System (ABS) supply a strong, reassuring
brake feel. To ensure maximum braking during an
emergency, the Outback features both Brake Assist
and Electronic Brake-force Distribution. There’s also
Subaru Hill Holder, which helps prevent rollback on
steep inclines.

Vehicle Dynamics Control with
Active Torque Vectoring
Standard Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC) senses
if the vehicle is following the driver’s intended
course and can help ensure it does. Active Torque
Vectoring was added to make your Outback even
more responsive and better at taking on corners.
Increased visibility
We moved the A-pillar forward 50 mm from
the previous Outback and made it thinner,
which increased visibility. We also installed
front quarter windows with door-mounted
side mirrors to reduce the front blind spot for
increased forward visibility.
