SRS Airbag ( Supplemental Restraint System Airbag )
cover exclusively designed for use with the SRS airbag . Even when using a genuine SUBARU seat cover , the SRS side airbag or the SRS seat cushion airbag may not function normally if the seat cover is not installed correctly .
& General Precautions Regarding SRS Airbag System and Children s01ah14 in a child restraint system or in a seatbelt , whichever is appropriate for the child ’ s age , height and weight . The SRS airbag deploys with considerable speed and force and can injure or even kill children , especially if they are not restrained or improperly restrained . Because children are lighter and weaker than adults , their risk of being injured from deployment is greater . According to accident statistics , children are safer when properly restrained in the rear seating positions than in the front seating positions . For instructions and precautions concerning child restraint systems , refer to “ Child Restraint Systems ” FP54 .
WARNING
NEVER INSTALL A REARWARD FA- CING CHILD RESTRAINT SYSTEM ON THE FRONT PASSENGER ’ S SEAT , AND NEVER INSTALL A FOR- WARD FACING CHILD RESTRAINT SYSTEM ON THE FRONT PASSEN- GER ’ S SEAT IF THE FRONT PAS- SENGER ’ S FRONTAL AIRBAG ON INDICATOR LIGHT ILLUMINATES . DOING SO RISKS SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH TO THE CHILD BY PLA- CING THE CHILD ’ S HEAD TOO CLOSE TO THE SRS AIRBAG .
WARNING
SUBARU strongly recommends that ALL infants and children ( including those in child restraint systems ) sit in the REAR seat properly restrained
