VEHICLE DYNAMICS CONTROL SYSTEM
If the vehicle approaches the limits of stability, the AWD
torque distribution, engine output and brakes at each wheel
are adjusted to assist in keeping the vehicle on course.
ACTIVE TORQUE VECTORING 2
The available Active Torque Vectoring system applies
the brake to the inside wheel, transfering more torque to
the outside wheel when cornering to improve handling.
SUBARU GLOBAL
PLATFORM (SGP)
The SGP’s advancements throughout the chassis—higher
rigidity, higher strength, lighter weight, better driving
stability and responsive steering—particularly benefit these
safety systems.

RING-SHAPED REINFORCEMENT FRAME
Utilizing the SGP, the Ring-shaped Reinforcement Frame
makes better use of high-tensile strength materials and
has been structurally redesigned for more efficient energy
absorption from impacts in all directions.
WHIPLASH-MITIGATING FRONT SEATS
Designed to enhance comfort and help the driver feel
more planted for more control, these seats can also help
reduce the possibility of whiplash resulting from certain
types of collisions.

REVERSE AUTOMATIC BRAKING 1
This system detects obstructions behind the vehicle and
auto matically applies the brakes when it judges that the
risk of collision is high. Reverse Automatic Braking also
incorporates a rear obstruction warning feature, which
signals drivers using different patterns of alarms according
to the distance from the obstruction.

SAFETY
SUBARU REAR/SIDE VEHICLE DETECTION (SRVD) 3
The Subaru Rear/Side Vehicle Detection (SRVD) system
features Blind-Spot Detection with Lane Change Assist
that sees where you don’t and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert to
warn you of traffic approaching from the side when you’re
backing up.
HAZARD AVOIDANCE
Made possible by the SGP, the lower centre of gravity design,
enhanced suspension system, and rigidity improvements
provide a vehicle that responds immediately when evasive
actions are taken, helping avoid hazards on the road.
CABIN-PROTECTING LAYOUT
Due to the low centre of gravity design of the SGP, the engine
and gearbox are designed to slide beneath the vehicle in the
event of a collision.
SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) 4 AIRBAGS
The front-side and side curtain airbags have been designed
to increase protection regardless of passenger position. A
pressure sensor has been added inside the front doors for
faster sensing speed while reducing false airbag deployment.
PASSIVE
SAFETY
SEATBELTS
The height-adjustable front seatbelts feature pretensioners and
a new locking tongue to hold passengers firmly in place, while
load limiters ease peak forces to the chest area. The end result
is improved safety and lower risk of injury.
1 The Reverse Automatic Braking System is not a substitute for safe and attentive driving. System effectiveness depends on many factors, such as vehicle maintenance, vehicle speed, weather and road conditions. Always exercise caution and use vehicle mirrors
and the Rearview Camera when backing up. See Owner’s Manual for complete details on system operation and limitations. Requires optional EyeSight® Package. 2 Sport-tech models only. 3 Sport and Sport-tech models only. 4 SRS: Supplemental Restraint
System. Effective when used in conjunction with seatbelts.
