Messages related to the high voltage battery are displayed on the combination meter display. When this occurs, follow the instructions displayed on the screen.
Symptom Likely cause Correction procedure
If“ Hybrid System Output Reduced” is displayed.
If“ High Voltage Battery Cooling Performance Reduced” and“ Battery Air Cooling Filter Is Clogged Check Owner’ s Manual” are displayed.
If“ High Voltage Battery Inspection Required See Your Retailer” is displayed.
If“ High Voltage Battery Level Low” and“ Charging Will Start after Shifting to Position Other Than N” are displayed.
If“ No Driving” and“ Check Owner’ s Manual” are displayed.
If“ Hybrid System Disabled” is displayed.
This message may appear while driving under severe operating conditions, not a malfunction. For example, when driving up a long steep hill or driving up a steep hill in reverse.
This message may appear if the high voltage battery cooling filter is clogged or the high voltage battery air intake is blocked or obstructed.
The high voltage battery is scheduled to be inspected or replaced. If you continue to drive the vehicle without having the battery inspected, the hybrid system will eventually no longer start.
The shift position is set to“ N” for a certain period of time and the charge of the high voltage battery is low.
A serious malfunction has occurred in the hybrid system that prevents the vehicle from running.
The hybrid system is in need of inspection.
If this message is displayed, the hybrid system overheat warning light also illuminates at the same time. Refer to
“ Hybrid System Overheat Warning Light” FP201.
Clean the high voltage battery air intake to prevent it from clogging. Refer to
“ Cleaning the High Voltage Battery Air Intake” FP471.
Consult your SUBARU dealer to have your vehicle inspected.
If you want to move the vehicle, set the shift position to“ P” and restart the hybrid system.
