7-74 Starting and operating/Reverse Automatic Braking System NOTE Automatic braking only holds the ve- hicle for 2 seconds. Before the auto- matic brake is released, a warning sound (3 short beeps followed by a long beep) will activate to alert the driver that the automatic brake will be released. & Canceling the Reverse Auto- matic Braking system opera- tion The Reverse Automatic Braking system can be temporarily cancelled by any of the following operations. . While the vehicle is stopped by the operation of automatic braking, the brake pedal is depressed. . While the vehicle is stopped by the operation of automatic braking, the accel- erator pedal is depressed. . The accelerator pedal is depressed hard (In this case, limited acceleration will be canceled and the vehicle will continue reversing.). . The select lever is shifted to a position other than the “R” position. NOTE The system will be cancelled if the object is no longer detected. & Reverse Automatic Braking system ON/OFF setting While the select lever is shifted to the “R” position, the below functions of the Re- verse Automatic Braking system can be set by operating the multi function display. For details about how to operate the multi function display, refer to “Basic operation” F3-45. Consult your SUBARU dealer for additional information about towing a trailer. When the Reverse Automatic Braking system is turned OFF, the following indicator will illuminate.
