Ring-shaped
Reinforcement Frame
PASSIVE
S AF E TY
The Ring-shaped Reinforcement Frame strengthens
the passenger cabin’s roof, doors, pillars and floor.
This design helps divert and dissipate impact energy
away from the occupants in a collision by use of high-
strength materials and strategic placements. While
making it stronger with increased torsional rigidity,
the overall frame is still lightweight.

Visibility
With a commanding perspective and front and
rear visibility at the top of its class, the Forester
keeps the driver aware and at ease on narrow
roads and in tight spaces. Blind spots are kept
to a minimum with well-positioned A-pillars and
integrated partition windows. The side mirrors
have also been placed onto the door panels,
creating a remarkably open field of view.
This system detects obstructions behind the vehicle
and automatically applies the brakes when it judges that
the risk of collision is high. Reverse Automatic Braking
also incorporates a rear obstruction warning feature,
which signals drivers using different patterns of alarms
according to the distance from the obstruction.
Subaru Rear/Side Vehicle Detection (SRVD) 3
The Subaru Rear/Side Vehicle Detection (SRVD) system
features Blind-Spot Detection with Lane Change Assist
that sees where you don’t and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert
to warn you of traffic approaching from the side when
you’re backing up.
