Child Restraint Systems

. Except for the center seating position, remove the head restraint when mounting a child restraint system. Otherwise, it might be possible that the tether anchorage cannot be fastened tightly.
. Store the head restraint that has been removed in the cargo area. Do not place the head restraint in the passenger compartment to prevent it from being thrown around in the passenger compartment in a sudden stop or a sharp turn.
. For the center seating position, raise the center head restraint to the extended position when mounting a child restraint system. Otherwise, it will be impossible to use the center seat belt guide that is attached to the head restraint correctly.
The center seat belt guide is essential for routing the belt webbing at the center seating position. For information about using the center seat belt guide,
refer to“ Rear center seatbelt” FP46.
1. Attach the tether strap to the appropriate tether anchorage. For the center seating position, route the tether strap under the head restraint as illustrated below.

2. Tighten the tether strap securely.
