SRS Airbag ( Supplemental Restraint System Airbag )
WARNING
. Do not put any kind of clothes or other objects over the driver ’ s seat and front passenger ’ s seatback and do not attach labels or stickers to the driver ’ s seat and front passenger ’ s seat surface on or near the SRS side airbag or the SRS seat cushion airbag . They could prevent proper deployment of the SRS side airbag or the SRS seat cushion airbag , reducing protection available to the occupant of the driver ’ s seat or the front passenger ’ s seat .
. Do not install a seat cover unless it is a genuine SUBARU seat
cover exclusively designed for use with the SRS airbag . Even when using a genuine SUBARU seat cover , the SRS side airbag or the SRS seat cushion airbag may not function normally if the seat cover is not installed correctly .
& General Precautions Regarding SRS Airbag System and Children s01ah14
WARNING
SUBARU strongly recommends that ALL infants and children ( including those in child restraint systems ) sit in the REAR seat properly restrained in a child restraint system or in a seatbelt , whichever is appropriate for the child ’ s age , height and weight . The SRS airbag deploys with considerable speed and force and can injure or even kill children , especially if they are not restrained or improperly restrained . Because children are lighter and weaker than adults , their risk of being injured from deployment is greater . According to accident statistics , children are safer when properly restrained in the rear seating positions than in the front seating positions . For instructions and precautions concerning child restraint systems , refer to “ Child Restraint Systems ” FP54 .
