EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM WARRANTY Subaru Canada, Inc. warrants to the owner of a 2016 model year Subaru that the vehicle was designed, built and equipped to conform, at the time of sale, with the applicable Canadian emission control regulations. The emission control parts listed on this page are covered for thirty-six (36) months, or 60,000 km, whichever occurs first, from the original date the vehicle is placed into service. A covered defect is one which caused your vehicle to fail to meet applicable emission control regulations. To keep your vehicle operating properly, and to conform with emission regulations, refer to the maintenance schedule outlined in this booklet. Only genuine Subaru, or recommended Subaru parts, should be used for maintenance and repair of your vehicle’s emission control system. Warranty service must be done by an Authorized Subaru Dealer. You should keep any receipts for maintenance service and have the Record of Inspection and Maintenance Services (page 25) of this Warranty/Maintenance booklet signed by an Authorized Subaru Dealer to show that the maintenance services have been performed at the required intervals. Subaru has the right to deny warranty coverage if your vehicle has not been properly maintained, or if repairs are needed because parts other than Genuine Subaru Parts were used. Warranty coverage will be based on component failure, and not just maintenance records alone. The emission control parts and systems have a thirty-six (36) month or 60,000 km coverage if so equipped. (Federal regulations only require they carry a twenty-four (24) month or 40,000 km coverage, whichever occurs first.)
