• Driver Monitoring System ( if equipped ) determines that the driver is incapacitated . - If Driver Monitoring System ( if equipped ) determines that the driver is incapacitated , an alert sounds and an interruption screen is displayed on the combination meter display .

- If the system is still unable to detect steering operation while the driver ’ s eyes are on the road , the following warning screen is displayed , and Emergency Stop Assist activates .

• In the following cases , Emergency Stop Assist may activate because the system cannot detect steering wheel operation by the driver . - The driver is driving with hands placed lightly on the steering wheel . - Driver steering operation is insufficient .
• For models with Driver Monitoring System , Emergency Stop Assist may activate because Driver Monitoring System cannot detect driver ’ s state , has a malfunction or has stopped temporarily . For details about Driver Monitoring System , refer to the vehicle Owner ’ s Manual .
