whale / squid
big blue whale. big red squid.
born from salty ocean breath
tide listened, coming forth it gave us
big blue whale. big red squid.
water is liquid to them,
so much as is air to you and I
enter the realm of open seas
fresh water, lies rapidly jealous
of these creatures everyday lives
a world stuck in the blues
scattered stories of a battle spread
they stoop in a motionless current
instantly revived by a motion,
they entered
furious giant of the seas, big blue whale.
slumbering it seemed,
it swept onto the battleground
silently speaking,
an old fish overgrown in age, strong.
mysterious spider of the seas , big red squid.
stepped carefully on the scene,
totem jovial;
an illusion
this joker wraps deathly its foes
fighting for days wasn’t enough for beasts
at first lingering, silently inspecting each other
there was a chance of peace, of mutual grace
if they stood in a light it was there own
they spoke in soft fish kisses and odd glances
it was the squid perusing space,
who provoked the giant
big blue wall slam; typhoon inside the water
they wrapped their bodies and ate flesh
lives no matter, instinct to the death
never a matchup quite like this
a tale, the likes to level ships
in the end wasn’t a story but a legend
the mythical battle of deep ocean brethren
