Paris is well known for its 5 star dining options and expensive cuisine. For those of us who can't afford to spend 100 euros on every meal here are some tips on how to get a taste of authentic French food for less.

1) Crepe carts

Crepe carts can be found all over Paris. At most of them you can get a delicious sweet or savoury crepe for fewer than five euros.

2) Avoid Tourist Traps

Resaurants located close to touristy areas are generally 2x more expensive than the average restaurant

3) Breakfast

The average French breakfast consists of coffee and some sort of pastry or bread product. This sort of breakfast may not be what you're used to but at an average cafe it will only set you back three euros

4) Avoid Famous Bakeries

In Paris, Pastries pretty much taste the same. Don't think that you have to buy your macaroons from a certain place just because it's well known. Famous bakeries count on tourists visiting them so their prices are almost twice as much.
