Paris

Note from the editor:

When I traveled to Paris for the first time I was also a student on a budget. The first thing I noticed about Paris was the architecture. When most people think about Parisian architecture the first thing they think of are the famous buildings, such as the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame. While I still thought these buildings were amazing, the first thing I noticed was the apartments and shops that line the streets. I adore the light brick, black brass railing, and large window style which all the apartments are built in. While each building follows the same basic design, they all have variations which make them unique. These buildings have a timeless style which allows them to be mixed in with newer, more modern looking buildings without looking out of place. They also add to the simple, elegant beauty of Paris which the city is so well known for. Walking down the side streets and seeing this classical style of Parisian architecture made me feel more like I was in Paris than even seeing the famous landmarks ever could.
