Minors
Unattended children will not be allowed in College District facilities at any time. Children are defined as minors who are not currently enrolled in College District classes, meeting with College District personnel, or participating in approved programs with the College District. GD( LOCAL)
An organization must speak with Student Engagement immediately if they are hosting an event or activity that includes non-Collin College student minors whose parent / guardian will not accompany them. In this case, we must ensure that an adult has permission to assume responsibility for the minors and will be attending with the minors at all times.
Animals
Collin College allows the use of service animals as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act( ADA), as amended, or state law. For more information, please view the Student Handbook or board policy [ FAA( LOCAL)]
Guest Speakers
Responsibilities of Collin College:
1. Collin College will promote and coordinate the speaker’ s session. 2. Collin College will provide the speaker with summary feedback from post-session evaluation forms if requested. 3. Collin College will provide the following equipment for all sessions: laptop, clicker, audio connection for videos, wireless connection, projector, screen, and wireless handheld or wireless lavalier microphone( s), where applicable.
Expectations of Speakers:
At all times while engaged with Collin College 1. The speaker will not defame, slander, or libel any person or organization. 2. The speaker will use professional language. 3. The speaker will act in accordance with Collin College Board Policies. 4. The speaker shall provide speaking materials at least one week in advance or as otherwise directed. 5. The speaker will follow the speaking materials previously provided to Collin employees. 6. The speaker will captivate learners using a variety of engaging teaching methods.
7. The speaker will not infringe or violate any copyright, trademark, patent, or intellectual property rights of any person or entity.
8. The speaker will not sell or promote any product or service during the session. 9. The speaker will wear business casual attire unless otherwise agreed between Collin College and the speaker. 10. The speaker will provide a W9 and an invoice when requested, if applicable.
11. The speaker will authorize Collin College to use the speaker’ s name, likeness, photograph, and biographical data in connection with the use and promotion of any aspect of the session. 12. The speaker will grant permission to share digital handouts with attendees, employees, and / or students.
