Wasted Bullet
Students were required to write a creative story using only 55 words, but include all elements of a short story.
By: Annabel Weyhrich Late in the afternoon, Daniel Jones crept into the parlor, gun in hand. He
was going to kill his wife, Sarah, and steal her money. Pow! Sarah slumped over
on the couch, dead. Pow! Daniel fell. Sarah stood with a gun in her hand. She
ran over to her dead twin sister on the couch.

The door bolted and she appeared. I couldn’ t believe it. We stared at each other and simultaneously said,“ Honey, what are you doing here?”
