Ode to Watermelon By: Lindsey Hoffman
Chop, Chop, Chop As I slice into you watermelon, I realize why I love you so much So sweet, so savory, so scrumptious With the center the brightest pink ever With the green trim that adds some flare Bring me back to summer memories Wishing it was summer now Having a picnic on the hot sand Eating you with so much joy Avoiding the white and black seeds You are the best fruit of them all I can feel the love in the air You bring a smile to my face With your refreshing taste That makes me want to scream of delight I would eat you every day You might drip all over like rain drops But that is not the worst The most devastating of them all Is getting to the end So I take another slice and the process starts all over again
