V. SCHOOL COUNSELING
be sent to the student’ s teacher, the student’ s Cobb County email, and the parent / guardian email. The student driver will sign themself out at Attendance before leaving campus. This process allows for less interruption of instruction.
*** Please be sure to update your child’ s contact list for check out purposes. The Enrolling Adult is the only person who can make these changes in PARENTVUE.***
TARDIES: Any student not in their classroom by the 8:20am tardy bell will be marked absent by his / her teacher. All students who arrive to school after the 8:20am tardy bell must obtain a tardy pass before reporting to class. To be excused for being tardy to school, a student must present a doctor ' s official appointment verification, a note regarding student illness, or a document for a court ordered appearance at the time the student signs into school. Tardies due to missing the bus, traffic, oversleeping, car trouble, etc. are unexcused. If the student does not have a written, confirmable note from a parent or guardian, the tardy will be considered unexcused. Students will be marked as excused or unexcused tardy according to the previous stated absence policy. Please note that if a student prints a tardy pass after half of the class has occurred, the absent mark will remain.
Continual tardiness will result in disciplinary action. The consequences for unexcused tardies( these are cumulative) will be the following:
• 6 th--WARNING
• 9 th--1 DAY ISS
• 12 th--2 DAYS ISS
• 15 th--3 DAYS ISS( LOSE PARKING)
• 18 th +--5 Days ISS
Tardies will be reset every semester. When students lose privileges due to unexcused tardies, students and families will be notified.

V. SCHOOL COUNSELING

Counselors assist students through core classroom lessons, small group sessions, and individually. Counselors also offer help with college and career readiness and are there to address any social / emotional needs. Counselors are available throughout the school day and will see students right away, if possible. Otherwise, students may schedule an appointment. Students are required to get permission from their classroom teacher before coming to the School Counseling Suite. Students are always welcome to stop by during their lunch break.
APPOINTMENTS If you need to see your counselor, Students may make an appointment via the school website or by using the dedicated QR code posted outside the Counseling Suite. Parents may call in to schedule a meeting. NOTE: AN APPOINTMENT IS NOT NEEDED FOR A STUDENT IN CRISIS.
