IV. ATTENDANCE
IV. ATTENDANCE
The Attendance Office is located at the front of the school beside Admin I. The office is open from 7:45am to 2:45pm. Parents / Guardians must show their I. D. to check out a student.
• A student is expected to attend all classes and is not entitled to class cuts – there is no“ Senior Skip” day.
• No Open Campus – Students are not to leave campus for any reason without following proper checkout procedures. Leaving campus for‘ personal’ reasons is also not acceptable.
• Work-Based Learning Program – Students must leave campus after their last class or forfeit parking privileges and release status. WBL students must carry their WBL pass at all times.
• A student must be present for two( 2) full class periods to be counted present for the day.
• The Cobb County Public System maintains an automated phone system that calls the home of any student shown absent for the day. Responses to the automatic correspondence you receive do not excuse or serve as an excused absence.
• We strongly encourage students to attend school daily. Although makeup work may be completed after a student’ s return from an absence, there is no substitute for actual classroom instruction. Parents are encouraged to check their student’ s daily attendance, grades, and attendance history by accessing ParentVue on the county’ s website, https:// parentvue. cobbk12. org / PXP2 _ Login. aspx. ParentVue rolls up with students from one grade to the other. When a new student enrolls, the parent creates a ParentVue account to register. If a parent forgets their password, they can reset it themselves on the ParentVue login site.
