The purpose of this subject is to empower learners to achieve their full physical, intellectual, personal, emotional and social potential. At the start of 2014 Life Orientation for South African Teachers was published by Van Schaik Publishers. Prof Mirna Nel, programme leader of the BEd programme at the NWU Vaal Triangle Campus, was the editor of this ground-breaking compendium of Life Orientation subject knowledge. Researchers and academics from the North-West University, the University of Pretoria, the University of the Free State, Unisa, and Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University collaborated to pen this textbook. Quite a number of the chapter writers hail from both the NWU’s Vaal Triangle Campus and the Potchefstroom Campus
