Stuck is not Your Story! - May 2025 Second Edition | Seite 14

BRAVE

When you have a brave heart, you really do not know it until after you have had to be so brave. That sums up my story perfectly as I wrote my chapter in“ Stuck is NOT Your Story: I Overcame and Am Victorious” book My chapter is short, but profound. I share a very hard, bottom-line horrific part of my life that I really did not have time to complain about because I had the weight of two children, a generation, on my back and on top of that, I had to keep myself together- spiritually, physically and most importantly, mentally. I was in constant heavy combat for our lives, during the years I served in this spiritual war. The attack was real, severe and did not let up!! One year, I had 5 W-2s from working so hard. Oh, it was tough in the beginning of my 17-year marriage and after I decided that I had had enough of nothing, I kicked him out and of course the intensity of the fire in the fight got hotter and hotter. Wow! I even had to spend money, I did not have, to get an attorney to fight their father to provide child support. He wanted to see me fail and guess what, he later revealed what I thought to me and then apologized after he saw how his children, two African American males from East St. Louis, IL( google the data on my town) were raised to such greatness when all odds were against us.
God had prepared me for this journey, long before I started it, because I knew how to really trust Him and believe Him. I remember walking back and forth in my living room, praising God and speaking in tongues... just crying out for His help. And He would help me every time, I mean every time. He gave me the peace to sleep, and, in my dreams, He would give me more answers. He would give me direct answers and precise instructions that I followed, and He would do the rest. He was everything to us.
In my chapter, I provide you with my simple-profound-faith-filled process of how I saved my legacy. I share how I received healing from the trauma of that journey. I do know this, that it really did take a brave heart for what I had to do. I know that God trusted me with his inheritance,( Psalm 127:3) and I made Him proud. I earned my brave heart medal.
