The goal of this project was to collect portraits of our
peers’ stretch marks and their feelings about them. We
hoped to collect and represent a diversity of experiences
with bodies and reflections on parts of our bodies that
few people often see. By photographing and displaying
these women’s stretch marks and their feelings about
them, we hope to bring attention to the commonality of
stretch marks and encourage people to embrace them.
Unfortunately, due to time restraints we were unable to
get a truly diverse group of women to photograph.
Nonetheless, we hope that these photographs and the
words of the women who participants will create a
discussion about bodies and how we judge and
experience them.
Thank you to everyone who participated.
We hope you enjoy their reflections and continue to
contemplate the way you viewed your own imperfections.
