Stress vs. The world
Problem Statement
Purpose
Being a teenager is one of the hardest things to do, specially in this generation. During the ages of 13 through 18 is usually the hardest for a teenager because of all the stress of dealing with school work, getting distracted, not being organized, not having time to hangout with friends, and so on can get a bit overwhelming. The stress is so hard on teenagers that an estimated rate of 14% of teenagers are said to be more stressed than adults. That is said because when you become an adult you don’t feel as much worry as you did before. As an adult, you get more of an experience and you know what happens in a situation like a teenagers. Another thing, teens have said that they’ve experienced 27% of extreme stress, 13% of stress during the summer, and 34% expect stress to increase their next school year. Having so much school work to do because you cannot manage your time will interfere with you fun time with friends. Most students complain about having too much school work because they want their “freedom”. According to a survey I sent out, many teens want to have a “life” by that, they meant having a life as in having time to do many things like hanging out with friends, family, boyfriend/girlfriend, and time for themselves. That being said, teenagers want a social life but can’t have what they want if school keeps getting in their way. Many teenager wrote a vision of what would be the perfect life without stress. Most of them wished that they had time to do anything and see everyone be happy all them with very little or no stress at all.
Problem Statement
Stress stops people from socially interacting with one another.
Problem Analysis
Stakeholders
Through the collaboration between BHS teachers, counselors, doctors, teenage magazine editors and teenagers, I hope that one day the rate of stress in teenagers will start going down instead of up. I hope that one day, teens will get accepted into the college/university of their choice without stressing over competition. I want to start small, I’m hoping to collaborate with a senior that has a similar problem to mine. So far, I’ve been looking for interventions and I’ve contacted people. Hopefully my intervention will come true some day.
