He assumes that his secret potion is intended for Walter himself but it becomes clear that it is Mrs Bryce who is the client - but is she aware of this? Why are all her suicide notes typed and unsigned? What is Bryce's secretary doing there? Is the good Samaritan too good to be true? After several thwarted attempts to poison various characters, leading to multiple poisonings of the rubber plant, will anyone actually manage to commit voluntary suicide?
