INCREDIBLE EDIBLE COMES TO MILNROW & NEWHEY! Philip Berrie to anyone calling in at the Milnrow & District Horticultural Society Shop on Sheriff Street, off Dale Street by the Slip Inn on Sunday mornings. There will be 4 types of packs available: garden flowers packs that attract bees and butterflies, wild flower packs, vegetable packs and fruit packs. This should all be in place by the time this article is printed. Irene Davidson, Chairman of the society says “anyone can come down to collect a pack, and if they want a variety pack that is fine, just let us know what is wanted. We are also going to keep a log of people interested in helping out with the project and planting as and when needed; just turn up at the shop and give us your name and a phone number, or join us on the Facebook group ‘Milnrow and Newhey Incredible Edible’ which attracted over 40 members with 2 hours of it’s launch!” Milnrow Parish School have already signed up for planting in and outside of school; Milnrow Golf Club and The Friends of Milnrow park are allowing wild flower planting in the “rough”, and sites are being identified around Milnrow and Newhey for fruit, herb and vegetable planting. As theysay in Todmorden “if you eat, you’re in”, so; do you eat?
